Former Institute for the Blind of São João do Estoril managed by Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon, which was in an advanced state of degradation caused by a fire in the beginning of the 21st century and which resulted in the maintenance only of the outside façades.

The project sought to preserve the building's original aesthetic, expanded with a new element attached to the building, with a contemporary language – a volume covered with lioz marble.

The program was developed in order to create 3 high quality apartments taking advantage of the location and view over the sea of Cascais.

The garden, for common use, was designed to be a continuity of the cliff with the native vegetation and with a raised swimming pool (being located in a national natural ecological reserve).
