Project for Alteration of a Former Convent from the 17th century which over time underwent several transformations. Initially a Convent, was later transformed into a dwelling and later, adapted into a university, having undergone several alterations, some adding value and others, the majority, of adulteration.

The project prescribed the preservation of the original existing elements of the convent building, as well as most of the alterations carried out in the transformation that took place in the 19th century when it was transformed into a dwelling and when the tile panels from the Convento da Madre Deus were applied, as well as the stucco works of the cloisters. However, the project sets the elimination of the adulterations carried out in the 20th century that distorted the building, when it was adapted to a school and then a University.

The project expands the building to the back, using an architectural language that differentiates the coating between the original building and the extended area.

The entire intervention foresees the possibility of dismantling the new area in the future as it will be an expansion carried out in a light structure of wood and steel, without concrete.

The new functional program provides for the creation of apartments for long-term rental to expatriates with the provision of support services.
