Apartment building designed for a plot where two previously buildings were demolished by order of the Municipality of Lisbon due to their advanced state of degradation.

As it is a space without any construction, there was complete freedom to design as long as the urban complex of São Bento street was taken into account, which, being a street in the historic center, is neither homogeneous nor very coherent, includinging several types of buildings, from the 17th century, until the 1970s.

The project intended to integrate the new building with the street and took inspiration on the contemporaneity of the new building of the Portuguese Parliament and was designed as a reinterpretation of a traditional Lisbon building, but fully covered with stone, keeping the metric of openings and the appropriate scale for the area.

In terms of interiors, we created apartments of high architectural and quality materials, from which the first floor stands out, as it was designed as if it were a single-family house in a building and which has a back-garden worthy of a palace.
